Yes. You read that right. We’ve joined Pinterest. Dun dun duunnnnn! It’s the final wedding social media-related frontier. No. We didn’t join to share our best DIY remedies for a stain on your carpet or secrets to making a t-shirt scarf (BTW, that’s a total scam, I tried it and all I got was a pile of fabric scraps and a knotted up old soccer shirt). We crossed the Pinterest threshold to share our Wedding Style Books, collections of photos and ideas for a few distinct wedding genres:
- Urban: Real, edgy designs to cultivate that “urban” feel. Urban-style weddings are current, with a focus on the here and now. Think rooftop terrace reception turned rave party. The hustle and bustle of city life emphasized by industrial, gritty details.
- Heirloom: Filled with ideas to display personal significance. Heirloom-style weddings incorporate owned objects such as your grandmother’s pearls, your great grandfather’s typewriter, or the lace from your mother’s wedding gown tied around your bouquet. Décor and wardrobe inspired by memories to add unique insight into the couple’s history.
- Nostalgic: Filled with wistful ideas to transport you back in time. Nostalgia-style weddings evoke feelings and memories of the past. Think vintage with glass soda bottles, or croquet sets. Meticulously selected props designed to leave you longing for a different era.
We’ve been privileged to be a part of a ton of awesome and unique weddings, so, we’ve seen it all. And we’ve seen couples’ personalities come through in table décor and venue selection, quirky shoe picks and floral arrangements. With so many different styles of weddings out there, who could pick just one? Lucky for us, we don’t have to! We get to document a new adventure through photography nearly every weekend from May to October. And now, through our Pinterest Wedding Style Books, hopefully you can share in some of those awesome weddings, or, get ideas for your own special day.
